About the role
The position involves operating and maintaining the organization’s heating and ventilation systems.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for environmental conditions of the air quality, affecting the health and wellbeing of patients, visitors, and employees.
- May supervise tasks of other facility workers by allocation and coordinating workflow, training, and advising in more complex phases of assignments.
- Provides preventive maintenance and repair work throughout the hospital on HVAC systems.
- Has access to, and is responsible for, performing assigned duties in locked medication rooms.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively use and instruct in the proper use of test equipment required for building repairs and maintenance.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of repair procedures and practices related to various building and machine repairs.
- Maintains established department and hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environment, infection and hazardous material control.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- HVAC Technician License or HVAC Technician in Training License.
- Obtain full license within 12 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Two (2) years experience in building maintenance.
Skills
- Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the Department and Medical Center.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with patients, visitors and staff.
- Organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care.
