Non-Credit Part Time Faculty- Culinary or Baking

Part-Time Faculty position requiring a full-time in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, primarily scheduled for nights and weekends.

Position Summary

The Hospitality, Culinary Arts, and Tourism Institute (HCAT) Part-Time Instructor is a member of the program team dedicated to promoting world-class hospitality education at Anne Arundel Community College. The Part-Time Instructor will be responsible for the delivery of educational content to HCAT students.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction of Hospitality, Culinary, and/or Baking & Pastry courses as directed by enrollments and assigned by your supervisor on a semester basis.
• Prepare daily instructional lesson plans based on agreed-upon curriculum and instruct in a manner consistent with the philosophy, policies, and guidelines of the college.
• Instruct lectures and hands-on classes on campus, off campus, or remotely to a standard consistent with the professional standards of Anne Arundel Community College.
• Incorporate a variety of technologies into the delivery of assigned courses.
• Attend departmental, divisional, and assigned association meetings as requested.
• Maintain professional and effective communications and mutually beneficial relationships with all related program departments.
• Assess the learning outcomes listed in the course guide or syllabus.
• File course grades consistently and with 100% accuracy.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and an executive-level ACF certification or comparable industry certification, or a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Combination of hospitality, culinary, and/or baking and pastry-related education and industry experience.
• Five years of related industry experience.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, with attention to details and deadlines.
• Ability to teach nights and weekends.
• Familiarity with Microsoft computer applications such as word processing, database management, or industry-specific point-of-sale systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.
• Residency in Maryland or one of the following states: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia.
