Adjunct Faculty Non Credit Culinary Education

About the role

An equivalent/applicable combination of education and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position is required with teaching in continuing education or community education. Non-credit Community Education compensation is based on Pay Levels ranging from 1–5. A new faculty’s Pay Level is determined by the campus supervisor and ranges from $20 to $60 per hour. Pay Levels are determined from varying degrees of expertise and evidence in the instructional area.

Responsibilities

• Teach course load as assigned by the designated supervisor.
• Prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course outcomes.
• Develop a relationship with students and staff that is professional and encourages teacher/student communication.
• Assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate.
• When agreed upon and as appropriate, assist in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.
• Represent the college in a professional manner throughout the communities and college district by promoting a positive public image.
• Complete all required annual CMC training courses (e.g., Title IX, Digital Accessibility, Data Security and Privacy).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities are preferred.

Working Conditions

• Constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving.
• Occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms and use of finger movements.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
• Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason, analyze, and perform calculations occasionally.
• Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
