Operational Overview

Founded in 2002, Myrtle Beach Building Supply operates two locations in Murrells Inlet and Little River, S.C., serving custom home builders and professional remodelers with a wide range of products including roofing, siding, windows, doors, hardware, fasteners, and trusses. The company delivers materials to job sites, inspects and maintains its trucks, reports shortages and claims to supervisors, and assists in loading and storing materials.

What You Will Do

• Operate safely
• Participate in a positive work environment
• Check orders for accuracy
• Organize and secure load
• Obtain approval on all loads from supervisor for proper count and conditions of load
• Absorb and unload materials to customer's satisfaction
• Follow guidelines from supervisor
• Complete daily equipment inspection
• Record all merchandise that is returned by truck
• Complete necessary paperwork such as delivery tickets and credit slips
• Provide excellent customer service
• Assist in unloading material returned for credit
• Relay messages sent by customers while on job
• Assist supervisor, other employees, and other work areas, as assigned
• Comply with all company policies and guidelines
• Participate in and complete assigned trainings
• May be subject to DOT and FMCSA jurisdictions and restrictions
• Typically delivers raw materials to customer

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1-3 years of experience driving trucks required
• Lumber dumping experience preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills
• Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
• Maintain current operator’s license and meet company driver qualification requirements
• Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications)
