Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
- Have a clear understanding of and strictly comply with LO/TO policy.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems with production equipment and continuously monitor electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan.
- Locate electrical trouble by using multi-meter, amp meter, and megger.
- Repair and/or replace defective electrical equipment.
- Assist in calling vendors for assistance with equipment.
- Review work orders with resource as they are received, ask for clarification, and confer with the requestor for additional clarification when needed.
- Originate and process emergency work orders when needed.
- Order parts involved in repair and maintenance with assistance from the maintenance engineering team.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance.
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices.
- Apply knowledge of basic electrical principles.
- Perform work in the servicing of pumps, boilers, piping, and related equipment.
- Suggest maintenance items to be included in preventive maintenance shutdowns.
- Assist in writing and updating standard maintenance procedures.
- Stay informed of process changes which may affect the normal operation of the equipment.
- Perform small installations and equipment modification projects.
- Record all measurements during predictive and preventive maintenance activities to generate statistical charts for analysis.
- Provide training to operations technicians in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices.
- Maintain a team effort attitude and approach; familiarize self with new equipment and assist in training other technicians.
- Have knowledge of and adhere to all departmental rules and regulations, as well as departmental procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.S.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience working as a maintenance technician or equivalent education in industrial maintenance preferred.
Working Conditions
- Job functions will be performed in and around a manufacturing facility.
- Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping, and stretching; manual dexterity.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
- Required to occasionally ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremely fast-moving machinery.
- Required to safely access fast-moving machinery, including rolls with inward nip points.
- Ability to work outside normal scheduled working hours when needed in a 24/7/365 operation.
