Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
- Have a clear understanding of and strictly comply with LO/TO policy.
- Troubleshoots and repairs problems with production equipment and continuously monitors electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan.
- Locate electrical trouble by using multi-meter, amp meter and megger.
- Repair and/or replace defective electrical equipment.
- Affords assistance with equipment calls from vendors.
- Reviews work orders with resources upon receipt, seeks clarification, and consults the requester for further clarification when necessary.
- Originate and process emergency work orders when required.
- Orders parts involved in repair and maintenance with support from the maintenance engineering team.
- Performs daily preventive maintenance.
- Displays good working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices.
- Knowledge of basic electrical principles.
- Servicing of pumps, boilers, piping and related equipment.
- Suggests maintenance items to be included in preventive maintenance shutdowns.
- Assists in writing and updating standard maintenance procedures.
- Stays informed of process changes which may affect the normal operation of the equipment.
- Performs small installations and equipment modification projects.
- Records all measurements during predictive and preventive maintenance activities to generate statistical charts for analysis.
- Provides training to operations technicians in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices.
- Maintains a team effort attitude and approach, familiarizing oneself with new equipment and assisting in training other technicians.
- Keeps abreast of departmental rules and regulations, as well as departmental procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.S.) from a 2-year college or technical school preferred or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience working as a maintenance technician or equivalent education in industrial maintenance preferred.
