Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Have a clear understanding of and strictly comply with LO/TO policy.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs problems with production equipment and continuously monitors electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan.
  • Locate electrical trouble by using multi-meter, amp meter and megger.
  • Repair and/or replace defective electrical equipment.
  • Affords assistance with equipment calls from vendors.
  • Reviews work orders with resources upon receipt, seeks clarification, and consults the requester for further clarification when necessary.
  • Initiates and processes emergency work orders when required.
  • Orders parts involved in repair and maintenance with support from the maintenance engineering team.
  • Performs daily preventive maintenance.
  • Displays good working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical principles.
  • Servicing of pumps, boilers, piping and related equipment.
  • Suggests maintenance items to be included in preventive maintenance shutdowns.
  • Assists in writing and updating standard maintenance procedures.
  • Stays informed of process changes which may affect the normal operation of the equipment.
  • Performs small installations and equipment modification projects.
  • Records all measurements during predictive and preventive maintenance activities to generate statistical charts for analysis.
  • Provides training to operations technicians in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices.
  • Maintains a team effort attitude and approach familiarizes self with new equipment and assists in training other technicians.
  • Keeps abreast of departmental rules and regulations, as well as departmental procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.S.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience working as a maintenance technician or equivalent education in industrial maintenance preferred.
