Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during overnight hours, delivering service with warmth, professionalism, and poise.
- Execute nightly audit procedures, including reconciling daily transactions, balancing accounts, and preparing key reports for hotel leadership.
- Process guest arrivals, departures, and reservation modifications with accuracy and a high degree of personalization.
- Resolve guest issues and special requests independently and effectively, ensuring satisfaction and timely follow-up.
- Monitor property security and ensure guest safety by conducting scheduled property walks and responding to emergencies in alignment with hotel protocols.
- Manage the overnight operation of the front desk, including verifying cash drawers, posting charges, and preparing folios.
- Communicate notable incidents, guest feedback, and operational challenges through detailed handover reports to day shift managers.
- Act as a liaison between housekeeping, security, engineering, and management when necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the front desk and lobby areas, creating a welcoming environment even during quiet hours.
- Support front office and accounting teams with data entry, system backups, and special projects as needed.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all hotel services, local attractions, and emergency procedures.
- Remain composed in high-pressure situations while ensuring guests feel safe, heard, and valued.
- Perform wake-up calls, coordinate late check-outs and early arrivals with appropriate departments.
- Execute nightly backup of computer systems and secure sensitive financial data in accordance with company policies.
- Occasionally assist with light concierge duties or guest amenities based on requests.
Qualifications
- Prior hotel front desk or accounting experience preferred; luxury or boutique environment a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort with numbers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in hotel property management systems (OnQ preferred, but not required).
- Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Must possess a high level of emotional intelligence and guest empathy.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and nightly audit routines.
- Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 lbs as needed.
