About the role

The fellowship is designed for individuals who have a strong commitment to public interest law and wish to gain hands-on experience in representing immigration clients. The fellow will work closely with The Legal Aid Society of New York and Hunton’s New York office, focusing on pro bono cases and mentoring other lawyers.

Responsibilities

  • Representing immigration clients through The Legal Aid Society of New York
  • Mentoring and partnering with lawyers in Hunton’s New York office on pro bono cases
  • Participating in legal training, professional development, and social activities offered to associates at the firm

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar by September 2026
  • Prior experience representing immigration clients preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency required

Qualifications

Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to public interest law and a relevant legal background. Prior experience in immigration law is preferred but not required.

Skills
