2026-2028 New York Pro Bono Fellow
About the role
The fellowship is designed for individuals who have a strong commitment to public interest law and are interested in representing immigration clients through The Legal Aid Society of New York. The fellow will work closely with the Hunton Litigation Team and will have the opportunity to mentor and partner with lawyers in the firm's New York office on pro bono cases.
Responsibilities
- Represent immigration clients through The Legal Aid Society of New York
- Mentor and partner with lawyers in the firm’s New York office on pro bono cases
- Participate in legal training, professional development, and social activities offered to associates at the firm
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar by September 2026
- Prior experience representing immigration clients is preferred
- Spanish language proficiency is required
Qualifications
Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to a career in public interest law and possess a relevant legal degree. Prior experience in immigration law is preferred but not required.
Skills
Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for public service are essential.
