Pay
$29.43 - 32.63/hr depending upon previous Radiology experience
Role
As a Radiology Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our imaging team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
- Producing x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist ensuring clear and undistorted films.
- Positioning and instructing patients regarding x-ray procedures.
- Performing x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by Emergency Department and nursing units.
- Processing films for radiologists reading/interpreting following established procedures.
- Communicating with patients, families, healthcare team members, and physicians both in-person and via telephone.
- Maintaining x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; Ensuring preventative maintenance is performed on a regularly scheduled basis; contacting outside service for major malfunctions according to established guidelines.
- Promoting effective working relations and working effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate that departments/units ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Radiology Tech I: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- Specialty Tech In Training: 1-2 years customer service or patient care experience
- IV Certification
- Physical Requirements: Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.). May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
