Role Overview

The RN Resident participates in a comprehensive 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to support new graduate RNs with less than six months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice.
  • Provide patient- and family-centered care tailored to individual cultural and demographic needs.
  • Partner effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Adhere to professional standards, including the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and organizational policies.
  • Complete orientation phases, including system, core nursing, specialty onboarding, and monthly NRP sessions.
  • Collaborate with Unit Leaders, Educators, and Preceptors to develop clinical skills, critical thinking, and nursing practice comprehension.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license, with multi-state licensure preferred.
  • Certifications required upon hire: BLS or BLS Instructor.
  • Less than six months of nursing experience.
