Role Overview
The RN Resident participates in a comprehensive 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to support new graduate RNs with less than six months of experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice.
- Provide patient- and family-centered care tailored to individual cultural and demographic needs.
- Partner effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Adhere to professional standards, including the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and organizational policies.
- Complete orientation phases, including system, core nursing, specialty onboarding, and monthly NRP sessions.
- Collaborate with Unit Leaders, Educators, and Preceptors to develop clinical skills, critical thinking, and nursing practice comprehension.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current RN license, with multi-state licensure preferred.
- Certifications required upon hire: BLS or BLS Instructor.
- Less than six months of nursing experience.
