About the role
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Ogden Regional Medical Center is a year-long paid program designed to help new graduate nurses transition from student to registered nurse. You’ll receive hands-on clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship with an experienced nurse, simulation-based skill evaluations, mentorship from nurse leaders, and collaboration on an evidence-based practice project. The program supports your growth through a supportive community of educators and peers.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes in status.
- Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered by medical providers.
- Document care thoroughly and in a timely manner in the patient medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic response.
- Intervene promptly when adverse medication responses occur.
- Respond quickly to patient requests and proactively anticipate needs.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures.
- Translate complex medical terminology to ensure understanding.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
Qualifications
- No previous experience required.
- Some travel may be needed for training.
- Other certifications may be required during employment.
