About the role
This position involves hands-on work in our repair shop and field service operations. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining pumps, motors, and related equipment for municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance on pumps, motors, and control systems in our shop and at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in water and wastewater systems.
- Assist with planned maintenance programs and remote monitoring services.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians on custom pump station designs and installations.
- Provide emergency service support for critical system failures.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical/electrical technology preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in pump repair, motor repair, or related industrial maintenance.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater systems, including sewer pump stations and packaged systems.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
Skills
- Hands-on experience with pump and motor diagnostics/repair.
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and control panels.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
