About the Role

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Board-certified or Board-eligible fellowship-trained neuroradiologist for its Neuroradiology Department. This position includes teaching residents and medical students at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

Department & Facilities

Roswell Park is an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center (one of only two in New York State) and a State University of New York at Buffalo affiliate, with academic appointments for staff. The Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Department contains state of the art equipment including 3 MRIs (3T GE architect, 3T GE Premier XT, 1.5 T GE artist) and 4 CTs (GE dual energy and 3 helical GE CT scanners). An additional satellite imaging facility includes an additional MRI (3T GE Architect) and CT scanner. Future plans include the development of a second satellite facility that will include two additional MRI scanners and one CT.

Responsibilities

  • Share neuroradiology call among neuroradiologists, including overnight tele-radiology
  • Participate actively in research with clinical colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists to provide multidisciplinary care to patients
  • Engage with Roswell Park outreach programs to increase services in the local community

Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the field of Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, or Angio/Interventional Radiology
  • License to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York
  • Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology or Angio/Interventional Radiology
  • Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Completion of a neuroradiology fellowship is required
  • Strong clinical skills in all facets of diagnostic neuroradiology including MRI, MRA, MR perfusion, MR spectroscopy, functional MRI, DTI, CT, CTA and Head & Neck imaging
  • Comfort with procedures including Lumbar punctures, CT guided biopsies as well as a willingness to expand services
  • Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices
