Neurology Nurse Practitioner (Outpatient)

About the role

Provides expert clinical care in general or specialty areas, collaborating with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat patients. Responsible for comprehensive health evaluations, medical diagnoses, prescriptions, and treatment planning. Assists in medical/surgical care, monitors patient responses, and implements interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interviews, physical exams, and health histories.
• Educates patients on diagnoses, treatments, and preventive care.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, manages medication administration, and ensures accurate documentation.
• Maintains continuity of care by following up on health issues and treatment plans.
• Uses cost-effective prescribing practices and performs procedures as needed.
• Conducts physical assessments, educates patients, secures informed consent, and provides ongoing care.
• Maintains detailed, accurate patient records and performs procedures, medication administration, and patient education.
• Works within scope of practice as an agent of the physician.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the practice state
• CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor
• Relevant clinical experience preferred
