Registered Nurse - Outpatient Neurology

Role Overview

The Outpatient Neurology RN provides specialized nursing care in a lumbar puncture clinic, working with adult patients experiencing neurological concerns. They collaborate closely with neurologists in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform lumbar punctures and coordinate comprehensive nursing care.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care transitions.
• Support professional nursing practices across various care settings.
• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of patient care within the Nursing Practice Model.
• Lead initiatives such as preceptorship, quality improvement, and participate in committees or projects.
• Delegate patient care based on skill, experience, acuity, and resources.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; one year of RN experience required.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Experience working in a team and familiarity with electronic medical records preferred.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and demonstrate leadership.
• Current RN licensure, BLS certification, and additional state or specialty certifications as needed.
