Registered Nurse - Outpatient Neurology

About the Role

This position is for an Outpatient Neurology Registered Nurse working primarily in a lumbar puncture clinic, caring for adult patients with neurological concerns. The RN will perform lumbar punctures, coordinate direct patient care, provide education to patients and families, and support transitions of care. The role involves close collaboration with neurologists in an outpatient setting, adherence to professional nursing standards, and leadership through mentoring, quality improvement, and committee participation.

Responsibilities

• Perform lumbar punctures on adult patients with neurological concerns.
• Coordinate direct patient care in an outpatient setting.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding neurological conditions and care plans.
• Support transitions of care for patients.
• Collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrate leadership through mentoring, quality improvement initiatives, and committee participation.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• At least one year of RN experience (neurology experience preferred).
• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS and state-specific RN licensure (required prior to start).
