About the role

The Rehab Team Member is a licensed therapy professional who works within a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation program. These outpatient services are provided to patients with disorders and conditions primarily associated with neurologic and orthopedic injuries. The role reports to the rehabilitation clinic manager within the Ambulatory Rehabilitation Services structure and operates under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services.

Team members evaluate and treat patients in accordance with Ohio state laws and professional rules, providing care to a diverse group of diagnoses including spinal cord injury, head injury, stroke, and neurological patients. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive care plans, documenting patient abilities and progress, and collaborating within an interdisciplinary team. This position may also be assigned to other physical therapy departments within OSU.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and develop comprehensive care plans for all patients.
  • Provide physical therapy treatment to patients with diverse diagnoses, including spinal cord injury, head injury, stroke, and neurological conditions.
  • Document patients' abilities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Deliver quality physical therapy services and participate in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Function within a team concept of rehabilitation professionals, contributing to continuous performance improvement.
  • Assess patients, establish plans of care, and provide a variety of treatment techniques.
  • Educate and support families, and facilitate continuing care planning.
  • Evaluate quality of services and participate in outcomes management activities.
  • Supervise rehab assistants and athletic trainers as applicable.

Requirements

  • Current licensure with the State of Ohio Physical Therapy Board.
  • Educational and/or certification requirements established by the profession must be met.
  • All academic degrees must be granted from an accredited institution.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification preferred.

Schedule

Schedule includes closing shifts to meet clinic coverage and patient access needs. Current clinic hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
