Neuro Step Down Nurse (Full Time) (Evening/Night)

About the role

Provides operational leadership in the Neuro Step Down Department, overseeing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting clinical and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage team with direct reports, including onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
• Participate in staffing, budget adherence, and respond to business changes affecting operations.
• Analyze patient outcomes, prepare reports, and develop action plans to improve quality and compliance.
• Handle service recovery, resolve operational issues, and support physician and bed management.
• Ensure staff meet competency and readiness standards through audits and corrective actions.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, approve payroll, and manage overtime and staffing needs.
• Lead staff meetings, communicate updates, and oversee disciplinary actions and coaching.

Requirements

• RN license with a Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience; 5–10 years preferred.
• Experience in staff management; supervisory experience is desirable.
• Ability to lead operational functions, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Flexibility for evening and occasional overnight shifts.
