Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for The New Home residents through the implementation and monitoring of house rules.
- Conduct house and room checks, answer the telephone, greet visitors, accommodate new residents, prepare a home report at the end of each shift, manage sign-in logs, respond to emergencies, and respond to residents' needs and requests.
- Communicate and support all residents in a trauma-informed manner.
- Communicate effectively with the house manager, other staff, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Able to abide by The Salvation Army Social Service Standards & the NASW Code of Ethics.
- Experience in residential, social service, or customer service roles.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proficiency in using the internet.
- Completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse as a Mandated Reporter.
- Made Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153.
- Understanding of, appreciation, and support for The Salvation Army's Mission.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel Programs and be proficient in and the ability to utilize the internet.
- Completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
- Made Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
- Supports the Mission of The Salvation Army.
