NDNH Community Engagement Specialist Coordinator

About the role

The New Home Milieu Coordinator ensures a safe and welcoming environment for The New Home residents through the implementation and monitoring of the healing environment at New Home. They work alongside the New Day New Home House Manager in creating, maintaining, and communicating the daily work schedule for NDNH Milieu Workers and program activity and groups.

Responsibilities

• Supports resident’s basic and immediate needs, intakes, discharges, and paperwork.
• Maintains and communicates the daily work schedule for NDNH Milieu Workers and program activity and groups.
• Works alongside the NDNH House Manager and NDNH Case Managers to support resident’s basic and immediate needs, intakes, discharges, and paperwork.
• Meets weekly/ biweekly with the Milieu team for individual supervision and support in residential care.
• Communicates and supports all residents in a trauma-informed manner.
• Supports staff in leading life skills groups covering topics such as emotional management, applying for victims' compensation, and adjusting independent living skills.
• Inform residents about information regarding victims' compensation claims and support in filing.
• Participates in weekly client reviews and team meetings to create a trauma-informed environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior residential, social service, or customer service work experience.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
• Proficiency in utilizing the internet.
• Completion of PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
• Completion of Pennsylvania-approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training.
• Understands and supports The Salvation Army's Mission.
