About the role
The Optical Communications segment of NCP Manufacturing has evolved to offer a comprehensive range of optical solutions. This includes products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure, serving industries such as video, data, and voice communications.
Responsibilities
- Beginning of shift check with Manufacturing.
- Coordinator regarding assignments and production priorities.
- Assemble shop papers, MI’s, and raw materials prior to start up.
- Start up and change overs are per standard operating procedure.
- Maintain quality control by monitoring lines while running, performing necessary PQA checks, and reporting non-conformance.
- Ensure work space is 5S ready, clean, and orderly.
- Report any equipment issues as soon as they become aware.
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshoot as needed.
- Assist Research & Development & Engineering with experiments as requested.
- Loading and unloading raw materials.
- Handle materials safely according to environmental and hazardous materials protocols.
- Receive, store, issue raw materials and miscellaneous items for production use, maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Properly label and package reels for shipment to customers.
- Verify QC paperwork, barcode, and data sheets with reel tags.
- Inspect reels physically via traverse, damage, and print statement.
- Work in a team environment to optimize output, assist others, and promote safety awareness.
Requirements
- High School or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Fork lift experience.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of machine capabilities.
- Shift: 12 hour rotating shifts, night shift.
Working Conditions
- Good working conditions.
- Heavy lifting in rare instances typically assisted.
- Majority of time involves light lifting.
- Some exposure to elements of dirt, dust, fumes, and noise.
Pay and Benefits
The range for this position is $21.50 hourly rate - $26.25 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. Additional benefits include:
