About the Role
Responsible for management and development of the Benefits Administration service team. Manage the benefits administration system for multiple complex clients.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for full-cycle recruitment, management, and development of 4+ Benefits Administration team members, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Provide oversight and implementation of the team’s operational strategic objectives.
- Manage a book of highly complex key clients with significant unique needs, providing best-in-class service to retain clients and drive growth.
- Identify appropriate benefits administration systems specific to each client’s needs and build and manage these systems.
- Serve as primary contact for the benefits administration system and applicable workflows, including accurate and timely eligibility, enrollment, EOI, billing, COBRA, and other benefit changes.
- Develop and implement a regularly scheduled training plan for the service team.
- Provide insurance and benefits administration technical expertise to clients and internal account management and sales teams.
- Lead client meetings regarding benefits administration systems and processes.
- Assist with carrier and vendor-related issues, acting as the liaison between carriers and vendors.
- Manage carrier sites on behalf of clients as needed.
- Educate, advise, and communicate strategy/value on the benefits administration system and processes.
- Assist in developing employee communications, including enrollment procedures, benefit changes, and system clarifications.
- Provide resolution support and oversight for employee issues.
- Participate in the peer review process as both a participant and reviewer of standard and complex deliverables.
- Follow department procedures to ensure a consistent employee and client experience.
- Work collaboratively with the team to support all clients as needed.
- Set up and maintain data integration files when automation is not available, entering data timely and accurately per carrier/vendor instructions.
- Keep current on benefits administration technology and trends.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in the employee benefits industry.
- College degree preferred.
- Expert understanding of employee benefits administration software (Employee Navigator or comparable preferred).
- Prior management experience preferred.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize.
- Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
- Able to define problems and generate potential solutions.

Pay
Salary Range: $75,000–$85,000. This is a bonus-eligible position with a target incentive of 5%.
