About the role

The Benefits and Compensation Team Lead is responsible for administering and guiding the Company’s benefits and compensation programs and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position ensures operational excellence with all benefit and compensation plans, compliance, market competitiveness, and sustainability through strong collaboration with employees, managers, executives, and the global Human Resources team.

Key responsibilities include administering the Company’s benefit plans and policies, maintaining compliance with government regulations (FLSA, Equal Pay Act, DOL, ERISA, 401(k), COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PMFL, IRS), overseeing leave of absence plans (STD, LTD), and managing the ADA reasonable accommodation process. The role also involves data analysis, trend identification, and recommendations, as well as developing partnerships with brokers and advisors to ensure competitive benefit offerings.

Additionally, this role administers and develops compensation approaches, ensures market competitiveness using benchmark data, and leverages AI and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and guide the Company’s benefits and compensation programs, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Ensure operational excellence for all benefit and compensation plans.
  • Maintain compliance with FLSA, Equal Pay Act, DOL, ERISA, 401(k), COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PMFL, and IRS regulations.
  • Administer leave of absence plans (STD, LTD) and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Oversee the ADA reasonable accommodation process for consistent administration and compliance.
  • Provide data analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop partnerships with brokers and advisors to ensure competitive benefit offerings.
  • Administer and develop compensation approaches and leveling recommendations in collaboration with managers and HR teams.
  • Ensure compensation plans are competitive using benchmark data and surveys.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and insights.
  • Support, guide, train, and coach the team to set goals, track performance, and complete tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of benefits and compensation administration experience in a mid-sized company (1,000+ employees).
  • Subject matter expert in benefits and compensation plans, with global knowledge.
  • Exceptional ability to support, guide, train, and coach a team.
  • Strong collaboration skills across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive communication and solutions-focused approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • In-depth experience with ERISA, IRS, DOL audits, reporting, and compliance; FLSA and leave compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Certifications in one or more of the following: CEBS, CCP, GRP, SHRM-SCP.

Pay

The estimated base compensation range for this role is $132,000—$155,000 USD. Other compensation may include a discretionary annual variable target incentive.
