Benefits and Compensation Team Lead
About the role
The Benefits and Compensation Team Lead is responsible for administering and guiding the Company’s benefits and compensation programs and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position ensures operational excellence with all benefit and compensation plans, market competitiveness, and sustainability through collaboration with employees, managers, executives, and the global Human Resources team.
Responsibilities
- Administer the Company’s benefit plans and policies to ensure they support the Company culture and remain highly competitive in the market.
- Maintain company-wide compliance with government regulations including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, DOL, wage and hour regulations, ERISA, 401(k), COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PMFL, and IRS regulations for all benefits and compensation plans.
- Administer and ensure compliance with the Company’s leave of absence plans (STD and LTD) and all state and federal regulations and statutory requirements.
- Oversee the Company’s ADA reasonable accommodation process to ensure consistent administration, effective collaboration with employees and managers, and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Provide data analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations.
- Develop strong partnerships with brokers and key advisors to ensure compliance and market-competitive benefit offerings.
- Administer and develop compensation approaches and leveling recommendations in partnership with managers and global human resources teams.
- Ensure compensation plans are highly competitive, utilizing competitive benchmark data and surveys.
- Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen insights, and support continuous improvement across compensation, benefits, accommodations, and leave programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of benefits and compensation administration experience in a mid-sized company with at least 1,000 employees.
- Subject matter expert in all benefits and compensation plans, with superior working knowledge and understanding of global benefits and compensation plans.
- Exceptional ability to support, guide, train, and coach the team to set daily and weekly goals, check work progress, track performance metrics, and complete tasks.
- Leads by example and demonstrates the ability to accomplish tasks and deliverables.
- Exceptional ability to listen and act as a resource to employees and managers, demonstrating understanding, support, and empathy.
- Strong track record of collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of proactive communication and collaboration with a solutions-focused approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
- In-depth experience with ERISA, IRS, and DOL audits, reporting, and disclosure compliance; FLSA and leave compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of Workday and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Certifications in one or more of the following: Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), and/or Senior Human Resources Management Professional (SHRM-SCP).
Pay
The estimated base compensation range for this role is $132,000—$155,000 USD. Other compensation may include a discretionary annual variable target incentive.
