National Internship: Logistics Clerk, East Jerusalem, State of Palestine (6-months)

Purpose of the Internship
The purpose of this internship is to provide a structured learning opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain practical exposure in the logistics area of work under the Supply & Logistics unit. The unit is undergoing major reorganization while handling a large volume of transactions. The intern will work within the logistics team on documents collection and verification; data entry and documents upload into a specialized database for donation processing and approval (UN 2720). The intern will also monitor the progress of submissions, complete information and documentation, and update requesters on progress. These activities will be mentored learning assignments, with all outputs reviewed and validated by the supervisor or relevant technical colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and complete the documentation needed for creation of donation approval requests in the UN 2720 system.
- Take necessary actions for creation of submissions in the UN2720 system and liaise with requesters and UN 2720 focal points until receiving the final donation approval.
- Take necessary actions for creation of new submissions in the COGAT – Mercury System and liaise with requesters and UN 2720 focal points until receiving the final donation approval.
- Monitor the status of submissions in the UN 2720 system and COGAT’s MATBASH and Mercury system; follow up with requesters to complete missing documents and address queries raised by the UN 2720 team and COGAT.
- Take necessary actions for creation of new submissions in the Ministry of Environment database as required; liaise with requesters and UN 2720 focal points until receiving environmental approval.
- Insert and update all transactions in the Supply and Logistics Tracking database and support establishment of KPIs and performance monitoring mechanisms.
- Inform requesters of submission status, download QR codes from the UN 2720 system, and share with relevant team members to continue with the pre-clearance process.
- Contribute to preparation of reports on approved, pending, and rejected submissions for advocacy purposes.
- Support backstopping of other team members when on leave or coping with high workloads.

Requirements
- Be enrolled in an advanced/undergraduate university degree in a relevant field: Supply Management, Contracting, Logistics, Administration, or any related field.
- Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
- Have no immediate relatives (e.g., father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority to which the intern will report.
- Demonstrates ability to organize documentation and files for transactions with high volumes and time pressure.
- Demonstrate ability to operate computerized requests and approvals systems.
- Excellent English language capacity, both oral and written, is required.
- Maintains good relationships with all stakeholders.
- Focuses on impact and result and responds positively to feedback.
- Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills and job knowledge/technical expertise.

Duration: 6 months with a possibility of extension (beginning in September 2026)
