About the Role

As the National Accounts - Manager of Quotations at Crescent Electric, you will drive the standardization and optimization of processes for the National Quotations team, aligning with organizational goals and established metrics. This managerial role involves removing barriers, escalating issues, and providing resources to build and empower an effective team. You will ensure the team meets critical milestones, divisional commitments, and financial goals while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage direct reports, including Quotations and Project Specialists, to meet or exceed goals outlined in the business plan and budget.
  • Interact with electrical contractors, architects, engineers, and owners to recommend products for national accounts projects.
  • Train, educate, and update the quotations team on the latest innovations, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Engage with key national account stakeholders to influence specifications, strengthen partnerships, and position preferred solutions early in the project lifecycle.
  • Collect and evaluate quotations data to identify patterns of success or failure, measured by product type, manufacturer, bid amounts, and customers.
  • Drive gross margin improvement through strategic supplier negotiations, pricing discipline, and value-added solution selling.
  • Track and improve quotation-to-award conversion rates through data-driven decision-making and continuous process improvements.
  • Develop cross-vertical quotations support and backups within the National Accounts team.
  • Strengthen relationships with key suppliers and negotiate project deals to enhance margins.
  • Collaborate with Pricing Analysis to develop consistent pricing strategies.
  • Work with Supply Chain to promote Value-Add Services such as DTS and Kitting.
  • Support the use of tools like eCommerce, digital marketing, StockNow, and digital selling.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives, leveraging quoting tools, automation, and analytics (e.g., Parspec, Job Management, SFDC) to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop and lead national bid strategies for key accounts, including competitive positioning, value engineering, and win-rate optimization.
  • Build a high-performing quotations team through structured coaching, succession planning, and skills development aligned with future business needs.
  • Partner with sales management to translate quotation activity into accurate revenue forecasts and pipeline visibility.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage direct reporting personnel and redefine the team as needed.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including hiring, interviewing, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints.
  • Outline roles and responsibilities, drive effective onboarding, and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring.
  • Recommend merit wage increases within the established company wage structure and policy.

Skills

  • Strong, comprehensive PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication (verbal and written) skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of all facets of a distributorship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; 10+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel 10% of the time, including overnight stays.
  • Experience in training and developing employees.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally standing and walking; frequently sitting, using hands/fingers, talking, and hearing.
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.
