Job Summary

We're seeking a Nahuatl language expert to contribute to the development of high-quality training data for large-scale language models. Your expertise will help ensure that these models accurately capture Nahuatl vocabulary, grammar, dialectical variations, and cultural context.

About the Role

You will be responsible for challenging advanced language models on topics such as contextual interpretation, tone and meaning, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance. Your work will involve conversing with the model in Nahuatl across various topics, verifying linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance, capturing reproducible error traces, and suggesting improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

Responsibilities

• Challenge advanced language models on topics such as contextual interpretation, tone and meaning, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance.
• Verify linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance during conversations with the model.
• Capture reproducible error traces and document every failure mode encountered.
• Suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics based on your observations.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Linguistics, Indigenous Studies, Translation, or a related field.
• Professional experience in teaching, translation, language documentation, or community work.
• Clear, metacognitive communication skills.
