About the role

We're seeking a Kaqchikel language expert to contribute to the development of high-quality training data for large-scale language models. Your expertise will help ensure that these models accurately capture Kaqchikel vocabulary, grammar, dialectical variations, and cultural context.

Responsibilities

• Challenge advanced language models on topics like contextual interpretation, tone and meaning, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance.
• Document every failure mode encountered during verification.
• Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
• Converse with the model in Kaqchikel across a wide range of topics.
• Verify linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Linguistics, Indigenous Studies, Translation, or a related field.
• Professional experience in teaching, translation, language documentation, or community work.
• Clear, metacognitive communication skills.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Kaqchikel language, including regional dialects, phonetics, syntax, idiomatic expressions, oral traditions, and cultural references.

Pay

We offer a pay range of $8-to-$65 per hour, with the exact rate determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offer amounts may vary from the pay range listed above.
