What You'll Be Doing:
- Staff Supervision & Program Oversight
- Supervise assigned staff, including EL Family Liaisons, and EL Enrollment Specialists.
- Provide feedback, evaluate performance, and facilitate professional growth for Language Services staff.
- Oversee volunteer engagement processes, including onboarding, training coordination, scheduling, and ongoing communication.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation, background checks (as required), and follow-up actions to ensure compliance with district procedures.
- Conduct regular follow-up with volunteers and partner organizations to evaluate effectiveness, address needs, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Manage required state reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance, including but not limited to student, refugee, immigrant, and migrant data.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Family & Community Engagement Coordination
- Coordinate with liaisons, social workers, and other stakeholders to schedule, plan, and execute parent meetings, events, and engagement initiatives supporting KCPS multilingual families.
- Partner with district offices (e.g., Admissions, Exceptional Education, Students in Transition) to facilitate EL enrollment and family-centered activities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and agencies to provide supplemental services and resources for multilingual families.
To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To:
- Bachelor’s degree Education, or a related field, or a college degree with three or more years of experience in interpretation and translation services.
- Strong command of the English language (fluency in speaking, reading, writing, and oral comprehension).
- Fluency in speaking, reading, writing, and oral comprehension of at least one high-frequency language spoken at KCPS.
- Three or more years of experience managing/supervising staff.
- Experience working with immigrant, refugee, and diverse communities.
- Reliable transportation.

- A Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience collaborating with and partnering with community organizations.
Physical Demands:
- Sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers.
- Bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Terms Of Employment:
- Length of work year: 261 days, 5 days a week, 7.5 hrs. per day.
