Bilingual Parent Engagement Coordinator
About the role
Kansas Children’s Service League is hiring a full-time Bilingual Parent Engagement Coordinator in Wichita, KS. The position offers a competitive wage of up to $19.80 per hour and operates on a Monday-Friday schedule, averaging approximately 10 evening hours per week with occasional weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Implement and conduct assigned parent engagement programs and services to support high-risk families.
- Provide programs and services in English and Spanish.
- Translate program materials as needed and requested.
- Recruit families to participate in programs and services.
- Contact agencies to help establish and maintain parent engagement programs and services, and meet with community and KCSL internal partners to provide program and marketing information.
- Respond to requests for information, speaking engagements, and inquiries regarding parent engagement programs and services.
- Encourage groups to cooperate with the required paperwork collection.
- Build and maintain a local parent advisory council, including holding regular meetings.
Requirements
Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent
Bilingual in English/Spanish
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in the human services Field
Demonstrated expertise in child development, child abuse prevention and neglect concepts, and working with parent groups.
Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience with program planning and implementation
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and communities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of child development and child abuse prevention concepts
