About the role

Siemens Healthineers is hiring a technologist dual certified in MR and CT to serve as a staff MR and CT Technologist at University Hospitals, Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute Center for Advanced Heart & Vascular Care. The role focuses on performing cardiovascular MRI examinations and providing coverage for cardiovascular CT examinations in accordance with ALARA principles and department processes and protocols. The candidate will ensure expert clinical scanning, deliver customer and patient care excellence, and represent Siemens Healthineers and Clinical Education with professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI and CT diagnostic imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions according to department procedures and protocols
  • Examine patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics to assist in diagnosing illness
  • Support new software technology and evaluate protocols to improve image quality
  • Locate and record internal elements of the body and identify anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions
  • Provide excellent patient care during MR and/or CT procedures
  • Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy
  • Review tests with peers and physicians
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department procedures
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation
  • Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed
  • Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures
  • Maintain compliance with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Complete regulatory and core process documents in a timely fashion
  • Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedures
  • Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in Siemens training programs
  • Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist/Cardiologist, administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols
  • Maintain current permits and licenses to practice in all states in which services are performed
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems; call for service and notify pertinent team members
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Perform additional duties as required
  • Interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner

Requirements

  • ARRT dual certified Technologist in MR and CT, or ARRT certified in MR or CT but registry eligible in the other modality
  • Cardiac experience preferred but willing to train in cardiac for both MR and CT
  • Minimum of 2 years MRI and/or CT clinical experience
  • Successful completion of AMA-sponsored School of Radiologic Technology program
  • BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification may be required in some areas
  • Siemens MR system experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $81,180 – $111,617. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Schedule

Multiple shifts available. Shift: Monday–Friday (no weekends), including 11:30 am – 8:00 pm EST with a 7% shift differential.
