The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and a positive experience. They operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to optimize diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA). Key duties include obtaining clinical history, verifying orders, explaining procedures using AIDET, and providing age-appropriate care. They prepare patients, administer contrast via venipuncture if needed, and position patients accurately, applying shielding and immobilization as required. They review images for diagnostic acceptability, repeat or correct images as necessary, and ensure proper documentation in RIS/PACS systems. The role involves maintaining equipment and rooms, adhering to infection control protocols, responding to emergencies, and supporting department operations. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, at least one year of radiology experience, and certifications including ARRT in Radiography and CT, along with BLS.
