Qualifications
- On-the-job training period to acquire basic knowledge of standards, methods, pesticides and equipment used in an effective mosquito control program.
- Basic knowledge of various adulticide and larvicide chemicals.
- Basic knowledge of the occupational hazards and proper safety precautions to be taken when handling, transporting and applying pesticides.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years old.
- Three professional references including job title, company name and address, phone numbers and email address if available.
Special Requirements
- A valid driver’s license.
- Possession of a Pesticide Registered Technician license from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination.
