Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management, implementation, and launch of a new Mortgage QC database to replace the current version.
  • Perform comprehensive mortgage pre-fund and post-close audit/file documentation reviews within prescribed monthly timelines.
  • Record and categorize audit exceptions/defects into the QC database and assign defect severity levels.
  • Analyze and identify root cause and corrective actions necessary to cure/mitigate audit exceptions when necessary; diligently follow-up and track remediation efforts.
  • Perform all QC re-verifications by identifying credit underwriting documents within the mortgage loan file.
  • Order and review third-party vendor products as required for the re-verification process.
  • Perform all other steps required as part of the QC re-verifications process, including appraiser license validation, owner occupancy validation, and review of investor exclusionary lists.
  • Review all returned income, employment, asset, and liability QC re-verifications for accuracy.
  • Maintain all QC audit workpapers and re-verifications, including scanning and filing in the electronic loan file.
  • Create various department reports each month requiring a strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Respond to Investor and insurer audits by identifying appropriate files and prepping the files for audit by organizing and arranging them in stacking order.
  • Review audit findings from outside investors and insurers to provide appropriate feedback to management on the accuracy of the defect identified in those audits.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s Degree or a minimum of 2 years of banking experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge of residential lending compliance regulations preferred.
  • Pleasant, positive attitude with the desire to learn.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Desire to grow within a small team environment.
