Responsibilities
- Aid experienced processors with routine tasks like ordering flood certificates, obtaining appraisals, paying invoices, etc.
- Update information from bank statements, pay stubs, and appraisals into the bank's origination system.
- Order and collect documents necessary to address automated underwriting findings.
- Ensure compliance with bank and government regulations.
- Study automated underwriting findings and UW conditions to understand loan approval requirements.
- Learn to independently submit quality files to underwriting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related education or processing/real estate experience in a business setting, such as a bank, credit union, legal firm, insurance company, title company, etc.
- Knowledge of common computer operations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Ability to be teachable and respond positively to coaching and training.
- Ability to accurately input data with minimal error margins.
- Quickly learn and apply new processes and retain information.
- Ability to read, understand, apply knowledge, and ask for help when needed.
Qualifications
- Level I: Less than 1 year of mortgage lending or related experience.
- Level II: Two to three years of related experience, including knowledge of mortgage investor guidelines, appraisal process, automated underwriting, and compliance guidelines.
- Level III: Three or more years of related experience with evidence of ability to function at an elevated capacity, including mastery of mortgage investor guidelines, appraisal review process, automated underwriting process, and compliance guidelines.
Additional Qualifications
- Level II: Knowledge of mortgage investor guidelines, appraisal process, automated underwriting, and compliance guidelines; excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills; time management and prioritization skills; ability to solve complex loan problems; ability to manage difficult situations between interested parties in the mortgage transaction; understanding, applying knowledge, and resolving issues between automated underwriting rules and manual underwriting rules.
- Level III: Definitive evidence of ability to function at an elevated capacity, including mastery of mortgage investor guidelines, appraisal review process, automated underwriting process, and compliance guidelines; ability to train others effectively.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
