About the role
The Mortgage Loan Processor is a full-time, on-site role located in La Marque, TX.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing borrower information, verifying income and assets
- Ordering and tracking third-party services such as appraisals and title work
- Preparing files for underwriting decision
- Communicating regularly with members, loan officers, underwriters, and external partners to resolve conditions, clarify requirements, and keep all parties informed of loan status
- Maintaining detailed records, meeting processing timelines, and supporting a positive member experience throughout the mortgage process
Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge in the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending, with a strong understanding of credit union or community lending practices
- Proficiency in Loan Processing, including collecting documentation, validating data, and managing files through each stage of the loan lifecycle
- Familiarity with Underwriting and Loans, including basic guidelines, risk considerations, and regulatory requirements
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain mortgage processes clearly and professionally to members
- Comfort with mortgage loan software systems, general office applications, and accurate data entry
- Prior experience in mortgage processing or a related lending role preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, college coursework or relevant certifications a plus
- Ability to work on-site in La Marque, TX, and collaborate with a team in a member-focused environment
