Position Overview

This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day handling of mortgage secured loans in late stage delinquency, including but not limited to collections, loss mitigation and foreclosure management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintains foreclosure loans and ensures foreclosure actions are completed in a timely manner according to investor and insurer, state and regulatory guidelines.
  • Designs strategies to minimize losses via management of attorneys and enhance the foreclosure process.
  • Manages assigned queued accounts by setting appropriate follow-up and next steps to adhere to investor/Bank guidelines and procedures.
  • Conducts field maintenance within the servicing and collection system to ensure adherence to FCRA and Bank policies related to status fields.
  • Completes equity analysis and recommends courses of action such as charge-offs/legal actions.
  • Ensures collection system documentation related to all collection, loss mitigation and foreclosure calls, emails and written communication.
  • Reviews and approves vendor invoicing.
  • Serves as a Bank representative at hearings, depositions and mediations.
  • Maintains attorney communication via phone/email.
  • Manages compliance related aspects of the residential mortgage division to ensure functions conform to CFPB, OCC, SCRA, FCRA, FDCPA and other state, federal and Bank requirements.
  • Performs special projects and reporting required by investors such as FHLMC/FNMA/FHLB.
  • Maintains current data of new and pending laws and regulations directly affecting the division.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School or GED
  • 5 years of experience

  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in servicing GSE-Portfolio Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Collection loans
  • Familiarity with general mortgage servicing practices
  • Excellent negotiation skills
