Monitor Technician - Cardiac/Telemetry (1N) - Per Diem

Responsibilities
- Records and performs monitoring procedures as assigned.
- Reports observations and any rhythm changes immediately to the responsible RN or Charge Nurse.
- Recognizes and verifies all alarms promptly; counts rhythm stripping as assigned and whenever a change in rhythm occurs.
- Applies monitor leads to patient to obtain the best ECG signal.
- Performs 12 lead EKG as requested.
- Completes all monitor recording and enters patient data into the monitoring system correctly, including the patient medical record number.
- Keeps an accurate written record of monitor rhythms on the shift.
- Recognizes equipment inadequacies and promptly reports to the Charge Nurse and Biomedical for an equipment check.
- Maintains proper par levels of necessary batteries, electrodes, and paper needed for around-the-clock monitoring.
- Reports off duty to the Charge Nurse before leaving the nursing unit or to incoming monitor technician.
- Establishes a good rapport and professional working relationship with all departmental personnel; maintains appropriate interdepartmental communications.
- Assumes responsibility for reading all posted minutes and memos.
- Attends mandatory education classes as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Acute care hospital experience (Required).
- Previous experience as a Monitor Technician (Preferred).

Pay
Final base compensation is determined based on employment status (Full/Part-Time or Per Diem), skills, education, and experience, with consideration for internal pay equity. Pay range: $21.00/hour - $26.00/hour.
