Cardiac Monitor Technician / Telemetry

About the Role

Observes, interprets, and records the telemetry recordings for monitored patients. May monitor alarms where applicable. Delivers and applies telemetry boxes to patients. Ensures correct patient is being monitored. Reports significant observations of cardiac rhythms and other alarm information to the health care team. Communicates pertinent information to patients as necessary. Produces accurate and complete documentation. Complies with handoff communication process. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified rhythm analyst technician (CRAT) preferred.
• Successful completion of an approved arrhythmia course preferred or successfully passing an arrhythmia exam on hire.

Physical Requirements

• Medium-Heavy physical demand: 36-75 lbs occasionally (0-33% of the work day), 20-35 lbs frequently (34-66% of the workday), 10-20 lbs constantly (67-100% of the workday).
• Lifting up to 75 lbs maximum.
• Carrying objects up to 35 lbs.
• Occasional to frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting.
• Close eye work involving computers, typing, reading, and writing.
• Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.

• Exposure to blood-borne pathogens and bio-hazardous waste.
• Exposure to chemicals, gases, fumes, and vapors.
• Exposure to communicable diseases.
• Risk of electrical shock and patient care/handling injuries.
• Exposure to hot/cold temperatures and varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
