What To Expect

You will ensure the precise assembly, sealing, and quality validation of critical components through operation and maintenance of advanced manufacturing equipment, adhering to Tesla’s standards for closure integrity, safety, and performance. Your role involves maintaining production efficiency, minimizing defects, and collaborating with engineering teams to optimize process reliability.

What You'll Do

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high-precision plastic injection molding equipment for sealing, bonding, and closure assembly (e.g., battery casings, vehicle panels)
• Conduct closure integrity tests (pressure testing, leak detection, visual inspections) and collaborate with engineers to resolve defects or process inefficiencies
• Maintain closure parameters (torque, sealant application, alignment tolerances) while ensuring compliance with quality standards
• Execute setup, verification, and shutdown procedures, including mold/EOAT checks, equipment homing, water leak verification, and conveyor/rack readiness
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (purging, IMM system activation, rack/mold changes) and maintain a safe, clean workspace to prevent defects

Essential Physical Demands

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
• Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
• Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
• S stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
• Find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, clean coveralls in cleanroom, and adhere to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
