As a Mohs Surgery Assistant in our Orland Park, IL team, you will play a key role in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring patients receive the best care possible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for Mohs surgery by conducting initial assessments, obtaining medical history, and taking vital signs
• Assist surgeons during Mohs surgical procedures, ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and sterile
• Provide post-operative instructions and care guidance to patients
• Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment abiding by safety and infection control protocols
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
• Coordinate scheduling and follow-up appointments for patients
• Educate patients about the procedure and answer any questions to alleviate concerns

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a surgical or dermatology setting, preferably with Mohs surgery
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, and patient care protocols
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, focused on patient comfort and education
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software
• Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
