MN/WI Waste Market Sector Leader

About the role

The Waste Market Sector Lead position at HDR is dedicated to shaping solid waste infrastructure and environmental stewardship. This role focuses on developing comprehensive solutions that span waste planning, remediation, engineering, and implementation. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of business strategies for the Minnesota/Wisconsin Waste Market Sector, collaborating with local operational leadership and global Waste Sector leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business strategies for the Minnesota/Wisconsin Waste Market Sector
• Lead the waste practice through all service lines, focusing on MSW and CCR landfill services
• Collaborate with clients and communities to design sustainable, cost-effective systems
• Manage day-to-day activities and support professional development of staff
• Manage the financial performance of the Solid Waste Sector, including profitability, revenue, direct labor, and receivables
• Implement, monitor, and champion company policies
• Participate in project teams in a Project Manager role and achieve utilization goals
• Lead and coordinate projects in Minnesota/Wisconsin and within the Central Region
• Work on comparable, new, and exciting projects around HDR’s network

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8-13+ years’ experience in landfills, waste facilities, construction, and waste management
• Familiarity with environmental regulations
• Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services
• Experience in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits
• Experience in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path, and professional growth
• Experience with industry associations and maintaining a visible profile in the market sector
• Ability to work cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers, and Area Managers
