Arrowwood Baptist Church is a medium-size, missionally active, and theologically conservative Southern Baptist church in Chesnee, SC. Our mission is to Love God, Know Him, and Share Him. We adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
About the role
The full-time Minister of Students will primarily serve middle school through high school students (6th–12th Grade) and oversee a college student ministry. We seek a faith-driven, energetic leader with a servant’s heart to shepherd youth—alongside their parents—through their formative years, equipping them to submit to Christ in all areas of life and to share the gospel.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, conduct, and evaluate a comprehensive ministry for grades 6–12, fostering spiritual growth and discipleship.
- Share Christ with lost and unchurched youth, leading them to salvation and discipleship, and provide opportunities for their Christian ministry.
- Counsel youth on spiritual life, college choice, vocation, relationships, and family matters.
- Recruit, train, and mentor adult volunteers for the youth ministry.
- Lead Bible studies each Sunday and Wednesday, teaching sound doctrine.
- Organize outreach events, mission trips, and fellowship activities.
- Engage with local schools, FCA, and community events to expand outreach.
- Work with the Senior Pastor and deacons to encourage return participation of guests.
- Assist the Senior Pastor and deacons in visitation of those hospitalized, homebound, or bereaved.
- Participate in church-wide events, staff/deacon meetings, and planning sessions.
- Maintain a consistent presence in students’ lives through church activities, school functions, and community engagement.
- Pursue personal spiritual growth and professional development.
- Collaborate with staff and build relationships with students, parents, and volunteers.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a passion for student ministry.
- Completed or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or a related field.
- Passion for the glory of God, youth discipleship, evangelism, apologetics, generational connectivity, and community.
- Strong organizational, communication, social media, and relational skills.
