MINISTER TO STUDENTS

Primarily responsible for the overall ministry to Students in Grades 6–12. As a member of the Dawson Ministerial Staff Team, expected to reflect the Christian values of Dawson in all relationships at work, in the community, and in personal, business, and family relationships.

Responsibilities

• Discipleship of students through small groups, Sunday morning Life Groups, and Wednesday night programming
• Year-round activities including camps, mission trips, and outreach for students and their families
• Overall supervision and leadership of student ministry and student ministry staff
• Work as a team player with all Dawson ministries
• Oversee, encourage, and lead two Associate Ministers to Students and Student Ministry Interns through frequent communication and teamwork
• Recruit and train Life Group leadership to impact students’ lives for Christ
• Help give students the tools they need to grow in their relationship with Christ
• Develop student leadership by providing ministry opportunities aligned with their strengths
• Plan, organize, and carry out programs and trips that shape students’ lives toward faithful service to Jesus Christ
• Promote unity within the Student Ministry to reflect the church’s vision and mission

Qualities & Qualifications

• Strong teacher who communicates the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively
• Able to lead both students and adult leadership, including organizational skills, coaching ability, and adaptability
• Effectively communicate truth from God’s Word to students and maintain open communication with staff, students, parents, and student leadership
• Prepare thoroughly for meetings, programs, and other leadership responsibilities
• Master’s degree from seminary preferred

• Maintain a living, growing relationship with God through His Son
• Deliberately and intentionally share the good news of Jesus Christ with the unsaved
• Assimilate guests and new members into the Family of Faith through service
• Develop leadership through ministry and service
• Tithe income earned from the church to the ministry budget
• Support the vision and mission statements of the church
• Live by the guidelines provided in the Dawson Employee Policies Manual

Reports to: Discipleship Pastor, Executive Pastor, Pastor Personnel Committee, and Church in Business Conference.
