Mine Maintenance Mechanic

About the Role

USG Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Shoals - 360 Mine location. This role is essential to maintaining the operational integrity of our mining equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mining equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
• Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic, particularly in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA and company policies.
