We are currently looking for a skilled Millwright to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, collaborates well with others, and excels at solving mechanical problems. Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly review and assess production, safety practices, and quality processes
  • Provide day-to-day maintenance support and troubleshooting for machinery and production lines, including proper documentation of all work
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and diagnostic activities on mill equipment and machinery
  • Maintain detailed records, reports, and parts inventories related to maintenance activities
  • Communicate proactively with all departments to ensure equipment and systems operate efficiently
  • Work closely with machine operators to help enhance equipment performance
  • Demonstrate and uphold all workplace safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Help educate both maintenance and operations personnel on evolving safety and maintenance practices
  • Recommend new techniques, improvements, or best practices to strengthen continuous improvement efforts
  • Test equipment performance, identify areas for enhancement, and suggest modifications
  • Install, maintain, repair, upgrade, and troubleshoot mill machinery, systems, and supporting equipment

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in maintaining industrial equipment; sawmill experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems typically found in sawmill environments (conveyors, saws, kilns, debarkers, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and blueprints
  • Proficiency in welding and equipment fabrication for repairs or modifications
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing mechanical issues quickly and accurately
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in mill equipment, with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot them
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components related to industrial machinery, along with commitment to electrical safety and ability to collaborate with electricians
  • Experience implementing preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability
  • Consistent adherence to safety procedures and industry requirements to maintain a safe work environment
  • Solid communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and other departments
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support and mentor less experienced team members
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and comfort working in a fast-paced environment, including occasional non-standard or weekend hours as needed
  • Highly motivated team player with a safety-first mindset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, and move equipment when required
  • Valid driver’s license

Starting Base Pay

Starting base pay (before shift diffs, OT, and other forms of additional compensation) $38.25 to $44.50/hr
