About the role
This role is on a shift schedule that rotates every 2 weeks from day to night shift. The hours are 7-7 and the schedule is 2-2-3 (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner and working closely with area operators to resolve maintenance-related issues
- Responsible for taking your safety and the safety of your co-workers as the primary consideration when performing work
- Investigate the root cause of equipment failure and make recommendations for long-term fix
- Lead the troubleshooting and proper documentation (SAP Notifications) of all maintenance-related items
- Complete assigned work orders or other PM/PD activities based on established priority and confirm completed work timely
- Responsible for being aware of maintenance issues throughout the mill or assigned area
- Collaboration is key to Arauco's success. This role requires collaboration with our operational partners, departmental peers, and direct supervisors
Requirements
- Millwright Card, or Verifiable Industrial or Commercial experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years industrial mechanic experience required (including bearings, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes)
- Welding and Fabrication skills
- Experience in reliability techniques & knowledge of lubrication principles
- Hydraulic system aptitude and system maintenance best practices
- Ability to perform precision maintenance practices to improve asset reliability (i.e. read and follow instructions, ability to measure bearing and shaft fits, use of torque wrench, use of V-belt tension meter, laser alignment)
- Understand and read hydraulic and mechanical drawings
- Strong, demonstrated troubleshooting skills and ability to understand and execute preventative maintenance plans
Qualifications
- Physical requirements include ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
- Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects.
- Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures.

Pay
Base hourly rate starting at $40.21 per hour, with an additional $3.00 per hour shift differential when assigned to the rotating shift schedule, along with profit share and gain share opportunities. Candidates with a valid LME will be eligible for additional compensation.
