About the Role
Mechanical maintenance position covering various areas of the mill. You will work closely with department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Coordinators, Milltechs, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive department production goals. The focus is on safety and assisting operations to ensure uptime and reliability while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate mobile equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair systems, including:
- Combustion systems
- Fluid power systems
- Mechanical power transmission systems
- Water systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Lead and perform repairs on departmental equipment
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
Requirements
- Excellent safety and attendance record
- Previous mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience with:
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Grease systems
- Gearing and gear alignment
- Rigging
- Overhead cranes and pendant cranes
- Precision instruments
- Fabrication skills, including:
- Torching
- Welding
- Blueprint reading
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and electromechanical equipment to aid in troubleshooting with the caster electrical maintenance team
- Technical training and certifications
